Bluetooth® Logo

Harald Bluetooth Gormsson, (approximately 935 - 985) ruled as King of Denmark from around 958, and King of Norway from approximately 970 until his death. The Bluetooth® wireless specification designed by Ericsson® is named after the king, the Bluetooth logo consists of the Nordic runes for his initials, H and B.

Ericsson was inspired by the achievements of Harold Bluetooth in uniting Danish tribes into one kingdom. The company desired to unite communication protocols into one universal standard.
