Connectivity Corner 7: Designing for IoT Security
Published on December 18, 2019
Security is something everybody knows they need in their IoT products. But understanding the meaning of the word "security" in context can be difficult. Manufacturers provide long lists of security features, but are they really what's right for your application? Moses Correia, a Systems Engineer with Ezurio (formerly Laird Connectivity), walks through how to identify security needs, model threats, and prioritize solutions to those threats. Rather than simply tack on security features from an arbitrary list, our system carefully analyzes system components, their interactions, and the actual threats posed, and therefore produces a system suited to real-world applications.
